With Lockdowns possible over, it might be the time to take a look at improving your computer experience.

Looking forward to the Summer?  HP certainly hopes so as the company has announced the arrival of its new Pavillion computers to enrich and enhance the user experience during this period.  Whether you are one of the 52% of consumers who purchase a PC to help them succeed in school or at work while also using their laptop for entertainment purposes, HP feels its new offerings will suit your mixed needs.

This two-prong thrust at the computer marketplace consists of the Pavillion Plus 14-inch laptop PC and the HP Pavillion x360 14-inch laptop PC.  These products are aimed at the Gen Z and young millennials users (which definitely rules me out as a possible customer) who require a device to help them at work or play from where ever they are situated.  That could be a home office or their favourite holiday location.  This might sound more like a case of computer from anywhere (CFA) syndrome rather than the WFH concept.

Described as being HP's thinnest Pavillion laptop, with its measurement of 16.5mm, the HP Pavillion Plus features an all-metal chassis.  Beating at its heart, the HP Pavillion Plus boasts a 12th generation Intel® Core™ in-series i5 or i7 processor.  This is supported by NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 2050 4G discrete graphics  to allow the user to work and play hard using the OMEN Gaming Hub.

Two fans and two heat pipes are included to help ensure a dramatically improved airflow experience no matter what type of activity is being conducted.  An optional OLED display is available, allowing up to 2.8K resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio.  This laptop will be available in a choice of colours including Space Blue, Warm Gold, Tranquil and Natural Silver.

As the 360 part of its title might indicate, the HP Pavillion x360 14-inch laptop has been designed to be rotated through 360 degrees for all-round entertainment.  The laptop is constructed around a 12th generation Intel® Core™ U-series processor with optional Intel® 5G Solution 5000 for faster movie downloads, smoother live streaming and low latency when online for indulging in multiplayer gaming.  This is HP's first consumer laptop that features a manual camera shutter door so you can block unauthorised captures as the result of hacker intrusions if they occur.  Depending upon the model purchased, this laptop will be available in Space Blue, Pale Rose Gold or Natural Silver.

Features shared by both models include a 5MP camera with HP Presence technology, including AI Noise Removal plus dual speakers with Audio by B & O for an immersive audio experience.  Users will have access to  HP Command Centre with Performance Mode, Balance Mode and Power Saver Mode.

The HP Pavillion Plus 14-incj laptop is expected to be available in May with the HP Pavillion x360 model arriving later in the summer.  As yet I do not have any UK pricing information but have been told the HP Pavillion Plus will have a starting price of $799 with the starting price of the HP Pavillion set at $599.
