Adidas Over Ear Headphones RPT01

While most think of Adidas for trainers they do other items, here something you might use while you have your trainers on and even during a workout as the earpieces are sweat resistant, yes these are a small set of Bluetooth headphones.

At their smallest they are 18cm from the lower tip of the earpieces and 14cm across at the same point when the earpieces are parallel; there is 4cm of expansion on each side. Their total weight is 213 grams.

The material of the earpieces and headband are sweat resistant and removable to wash.

The earpieces are round at 7cm and have a good amount of padding.

These have just two controls on the back side of the left piece a round raised button and on the back side of the right piece a square raised button.

It is rare for headphone manufacturers to think of the user trying to control their units while on their heads. The right (square) controls is a joystick type control with up increasing the volume and down reducing it, left back a track and right forward a track all from a single button and this also controls on, off and pairing according to the time it is depressed.

The left (round) button is customisable. While they are useable with any App Adidas have their own.

The small 15.5x10cm multi language Quick Start Guide explains all in half a side per language in a rather small font which for some reason is grey on white which is not the easiest to read.

Linking to your phone or other Bluetooth device is simple and quick with the name to look for in the list of available devices Adidas and it remains paired even after switch off of the sending device and immediately plays on next switch on.

These are called over ear but for me anyway they are on ear headphones.

Another of their selling points is the up to 40 hours run time on a single charge from the USB ‘C’ socket on the base of the right earpiece.

Assuming you have connected them to a SmartPhone it is also possible to receive phone calls and the unit has a built in microphone.

They have IPX4 certification for water resistance and are stated to be splash proof.

I tested these with the range of files I have covering all Genres of music and speech both inside in a quiet environment and outside in more testing conditions. I was happy with the sound quality.

For me the size stopped them being total over ear and therefore some external noise gets through but while this may spoil your listening experience in really noisy areas it also means you can hear a car horn which could save your life.

At the time of publication the Adidas RPT01 are available from Amazon for £139.99 including free delivery.
