Continuing its Magic Book series, e-Funsoft has released version 11 of the Adventures of Amanda and Charlie as they find themselves in various difficult situations and need to escape and return to their normal world. As usual Amanda is always keen to encourage her friend Charlie to increase his appreciation of his surrounding environment. As a result Amanda is always happy for Charlie to accompany her when she embarks on her regular outings.
In this latest instance, Amada is planning to visit Florence and visiting the Galeria Antiqua establishment and view its collection of mirrors. Unfortunately, while admiring the display, including the prime exhibit of the centrally positioned Aeternum mirror, various nearby items begin to shatter. For once this disaster can not be put down to one of Charlie's usual pranks and misbehaviour. However the resulting consequences did result in Amanda and Charlie being transported to the otherworld city of Reflecia thus starting the Match 3 game of Fractured Reflections.
Spread over 70 levels of Match 3 game play, the game divides its content over five chapters as the latest adventures of Amanda and Charlie run their course. Each of the five chapters of this story will feature four upgrades. These developments will need to be financed by reward Stars earned by completing the various Match 3 levels. The upgrades and chapters will need to be completed in a set sequence in order to make the necessary progress in the game.
Each level in this game will feature a centrally positioned grid which will be sandwiched between available power-ups displayed on the left and the grid's current clearance challenge on the right. Clearing the grid will follow the usual method of swapping two adjacent tiles so as to create a group of three or more similarly embossed tiles. The group then disappears and the space created will be filled by other tiles falling downwards. In some cases this can create a cascading effect as more groups are formed and disappear.
Generally the number of supplied power-ups is extremely limited. Fortunately the game does provide you with the means to produce your own additional power-ups. Whenever you create a group with more than four tiles, you will be rewarded with a special bomb tiles which can be manipulated around the grid before being exploded in the best position.
Occasionally a grid will contain a tile than can not form part of a group. This tile is referred to as an artefact and can emit a glowing hue. Whenever an artefact is present in a grid, it will also be included as part of the clearance Challenge. In order to remove this tile from the grid, you will need to create a pathway beneath the artefact so that it drops to the bottom of the grid and can be removed.
As mentioned earlier, the game's chapters each contain upgrades. Once an upgrade has been activated, it will be followed by a cut-scene featuring printed dialogue. During these cut-scenes Amanda and Charlie will meet various characters who will explain that Amanda and Charlie will need to repair the broken mirrors so that the otherworld of Reflecia will be saved from destruction.
