When deciding to take a camping holiday, you need to consider the choices available.

Caravan Quest – Discover America takes you on a trip around the iconic campgrounds of America.  With this title, Lazy Turtle Games has decided to concentrate its focus more on the campground areas themselves rather than the actual caravans providing the living quarters.  In fact when caravans do make an appearance in the game’s location scenes, they are more of the mobile home or purposed-built holiday home than the traditional style units that I remember from the early family holidays of my own experiences.

Forming the base for a Hidden Object style game, this Caravan Quest divides its range of campgrounds into pages which, apart from the initial one, are locked until the player has earned a minimum of seven Stars.  Each of the game’s other five pages will feature four locations which you can visit in any order you like.  The different locations will be overlaid a panel indicating that up to three Stars can be earned by visiting that particular location.  Actually you can visit each location as many times as you like but you will be limited to earning just three Stars for the location.

Adding a degree of some variety to the multiple visits you can make to a location, you are given a choice of using four different styles or methods of presenting the list of required items.  By default the required list will be presented in standard text format.  However you do have the option to switch to one of the other supported formats.  You can select from using silhouettes, jumbled words or a mirror format to present your required list.

With this combination of four location scenes and the ability to earn three Stars, there should be plenty of scope to achieve the necessary fee of seven Stars to unlock the next page.  Once unlocked, you will be able to revisit a page any time you like.  However there does not appear any further reward or additional action that can be carried out once all the relevant pages have been completed.  You just seem to have arrived at a dead-end.

Caravan Quest – Discover America is available for downloading from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  You can also download it from Big Fish Games priced at £7.50.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 169MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
