Targus are a company more famous for there bags for notebooks but they also do some other items among these are rodents, here I am looking at two small offerings.

Both these mice can easily disappear in the palm of a hand. Both are ideal for use with a notebook or if like me you like a small rodent then with a standard PC. Both are optical one wireless and one corded so no balls to clean.
Wireless Mini Optical Mouse
Fighting manfully against being sexist this could well suit a lady as it comes with no less than three spare covers. The supplied configuration is black, however there are blue, red and grey covers in the box. Whichever one you use the button part of the mouse is grey as indeed is the wireless receiver that fits into any USB port.
It is 8.5x4.5x2.5cm It is what I would now call a standard configuration with two buttons with a wheel in between. The buttons themselves are larger than some being over 4cm in depth.
The wireless part is just plug and play (Windows 98SE onwards) and works within a two metre range of the transmitter. I tried moving as far as I could from my system where I could still see it - and it still worked. The batteries (are provided) can be switched off to increase life for the times when not in use.
Ideal for anyone who likes a small mouse and especially useful for those who use a notebook and do not like the trackpad or worst of all those lumbered with the pencil erasure mouse control. I tend to think the interchangeable covers are a gimmick but how often do I need to say it I am no style guru.
Optical Mini Mouse
This is even smaller at 7.5x3.5x2.5cm. It has a 2.5cm circular lozenge attached to the end of the USB plug that contains the lead that it emerges and retracts into, this lead seems to expend by about 70cm. Ideal again for anyone on the move as the mouse will fit into the smallest space.
The two buttons with wheel between give all the same controls as a standard mouse. The buttons themselves are 2.5cm deep, perfectly adequate for any pressing that may be required but seem small after the 4cm offerings on the Wireless Mini Optical Mouse. I measured the buttons on a standard Microsoft Intellimouse often supplied with new PCs and these were 3.5 deep.
Both mice are 800dpi rodents so can be as accurate as almost any mouse around. To be honest I found the Targus site hard to follow www.targus.com/uk the prices were either or and that seems not to make much sense. The site does give some illustrations of the various rodents available.
I found the www.dabs.com site more straightforward they have the Targus Wireless Optical Mini Mouse for £20.98 and the Targus Optical Mini Mouse for £12.99.
