Curry's Lack Of Delivery

Never done a Blog but lets continue my problems with Curry's. I have no doubt that their 'terms and conditions' would cover them for anything or if they don't I would expect others would have found a way of getting them to admit their failings.

In a way I may even have gained from their refusal to deliver my order, albeit at a cost of £30 to me. I purchased a Bosch fridge freezer from a local shop at £30 more but they delivered it for nothing and even put it in place in my kitchen and took all the plastic and foam it was wrapped in away. Best of all I ordered on Thursday and they delivered on Friday.

This was good service the delivery men were polite and all in all I am quite happy.

Continuing the saga of my fridge freezer. Now we come to the disposal of my old unit.

Firstly Curry's wanted £19.99 to remove it, I declined that even before they rejected my order.

Second the shop I purchased the new unit from wanted £25, again I declined.

My solution get a friend to help me manhandle it into the back of my small hatchback. Then with the back tied down I drove the mile to my local council dump. I was directed to an area that had a pile of fridges and freezers. I asked one of the council men to help me remove it from the back of my hatchback, he seemed glad to help. He then dragged it to the pile.

Total cost to me around 30 minutes of my time and two miles worth of petrol. I did notice a big sign saying no washing machines I do not know if that was for the whole site or just the fridge/freezer area.

I do not know if all councils are the same, I do know that if you have an estate car they are more iffy thinking it could be trade waste - that is chargable by weight - and the entrance does have a two metre height limit.
