Archos AV320

Published in Entertainment on 30 Oct 2003
Donato among others has cast envious eyes over the Archos A300 series units. So here is what I thought when I got a pre production model earlier this year.
Two companies lead the MP3 market, getting beyond 128MB means a hard disk, sometime ago Archos brought out a 6GB unit, that's a lot of MP3 files, now 20MB seems to be the base level. However with the AV300 series the biggest breakthrough, MP3, still images and also MPEG4 video but with a 8x6cm screen, that's 3.8 inches for the more mature amongst us. However it is also possible to watch the same output on your TV providing you have a SCART socket.
There are nowadays a plethora of cards from cameras and other sources, most can be linked directly to PC’s to download content. However it is often easier to remove the card and use a Media Reader.
A keyboard and mouse are both vital pieces of kit for any computer user. So why not have them both wireless? However I found that their installation is not all a barrel of laughs.
A laser printer has one huge advantage over an inkjet, for text printing the claimed print speeds are always achieved.

If you a frustrated PC artist then the Wacom Graphire3 Studio may well be what you are looking for and at a price that will not break the bank.

Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse

I have been using the new Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse for two weeks now, it features a side to side scroll wheel as well as the conventional forward and back motion.
Firstly let me prove a Microsoft statement to be true “If you do not already have a mouse, you can connect and receive before installation so you can use your mouse during IntelliPoint setup” I recently had a new PC that had no operating system in fact I connected a keyboard and the Wireless Optical mouse and inserted the Windows XP operating system CD. It booted from the CD and as soon as the Windows install stated I was able to use the mouse.

Creative Labs MuVo NX

Certainly the smallest and lightest MP3 player I have ever used, the good news does not end there as you can also record to the unit using the built in microphone.
