I installed it on a not that recent Windows 10 system and that involved screwing the tripod base to the camera and plugging in the hard wired USB lead and saying yes a couple of times. So anyone can do it, this means a son or daughter can purchase this online and post to their parent so at least they can chat and see each other, thus keeping friends and family in touch during the current Pandemic.
Unlike a standard webcam this has a curve of light down each side when used is less than optimum conditions so you always get a good image, this image is perfect for video transfers in full HD, if you know nothing then accept the default settings and everything will be fine.

Instead of the tiny area in your screen surround this is a standalone unit that is 9x5x6cm including the housing, the three legs of the tripod can be between 7.5 and 15cm long meaning the range of places it can be placed are controlled only by the 150 cm length of the supplied USB lead, this means it can easily show several people even when they are spaced out around the room. You could use it without the tripod and use the jaws to grip something like the edge of your screen.
It is possible to set it to favor frame rate or exposure. There is zoom on the front screen or panning without having to touch the unit, 50 or 60Hz to avoid possible flicker, other settings are also available all only a mouse click away.
There are six screen layouts to suit most situations with the home and remote cameras these again only a single mouse click away. Sound can be adjusted both for outgoing and incoming sound. In my normal speaking voice with the camera set to one side of the screen and 60cm away I was peaking on the volume so quiet speakers are catered for.
You can also record both still images and movies without need for any extra software.
Frame rate for video is adjustable from 24FPS up to 60FPS the last mentioned in 720P. The field of capture is 78 degrees.
It comes with a two year warranty and while I tested it with Windows 10 it is stated to work with earlier versions as well as Mac an Android.
