Self-Stirring Mug or Finger

Image of author
The first is an item I saw at the Wilkinson’s Xmas In July event, an ideal stocking filler for those who expect their tea to be stirred for them. The second is another stocking filler this time from Brando in Hong Kong to get your Smartphone at the correct viewing angle.

Both these items are value purchases for the person in your life who has everything – even when they do not – and best of all can say it without costing too much.

Self Stirring Mug

It is 13cm tall with the removable lid attached. It has a handle made in the same see through plastic material as the mug which will hold just over half a pint of liquid. It is circular 8.5cm across at the top and 6.5cm across at the bottom.

Under the mug is the simple mechanism that uses two ‘AA’ batteries to do the stirring. This part unscrews so you can wash the mug itself and like the lid is matt black plastic.

The mechanism is operated by a push button and while it is stated to be a ‘stirring’ motion it is more like a whisking motion hence the max level marker being 2.5cm from the top.

In my tests I managed to get a very good froth on top of the drinks I tried both hot and cold.

As stated on the box ‘The Ultimate Gift For The Lazy’. Maybe for your boss as the box says ‘Ideal for the bone idle’. But if you are giving it to your boss be sure he/she has a sense of humour or you might not like the next pay day.

This is one of several items I saw at Wilkinsons Xmas in July day and others will follow when they arrive.

It is stated to cost less than £5.

Finger from Brando

A perfectly formed little finger 5.5cm long, the tip even has a nail and rest of the finger has slight skinlines etched into it.

The other end has a simple suction cup attached.

Attach the suction cup to the back of your ‘i’ device, MP3 player or Android device and rather than holding it to view the screen you can prop it up on a table or desk.

It is designed to be fitted with the suction cup attached to the back of your device or phone but I found that with smaller devices you could attach the suction cup to the desk and lean the device against it to display the screen.

So with say an iPhone you can watch the video on the screen while still having both hands free.

I used this on a train and the finger received a number of looks as it really looks authentic.

You do need a flat non greasy or wet surface to get a good grip.

Like the item above ideal for the person who has everything, this is also a talking point, an unusual gift at a low price point $10 US plus $3 US P&P whatever the size of your order.
