Oppo Enco Q1 bluetooth headet

Oppo headsets have always been different, instead of putting a cheap pair of earbuds in the box that probably never get used they sell better quality offerings. Here a round the neck set of buds that look quite old fashioned but instead of a 3.5mm plug there is no plug as they are Bluetooth and work rather well with any phone.

There is 25cm of cord from each end of the grippy rubber that goes around the neck this is stiffened and thickened in a 45cm loop to connect the other earbud.

There are two buttons split by the volume rocker at the end of the stiffened area that is horseshoe shape to lie comfortably around the neck.

Would I prefer a set of on ear headphones probably but they would be far more expensive for a good set and these are a good set of earbuds with a good silicon buds and of course a lot lighter at 42 grams.

The back of the buds are magnetic so they tend to sit together. Oppo were the first to produce magnetic buds to keep the ends from flapping and even produced some that turned themselves off so as to save battery. These buds give up to 15 hours playtime from a single charge. There is also a noise cancelation chip in the buds but this will reduce the time between charges.

Few earbuds have noise cancellation, better quality headphones do but few earbuds I can only remember two others.

The 11.8mm driver may seem small but remember these are earbuds not headphones. The rated power is 5mW.

I keep samples of all Genres of music on a MP3 player and copy them to any phone for testing, these include all varieties of music including opera and pop music and well as Genres more to my taste like Jazz. However these also include voice samples from both male and female voices the latter often harder to follow during a phone call. All were heard correctly with this headset.

This headset supports all Bluetooth up to and including Bluetooth 5.

This sort of quality does not come cheap so do not expect it.

Also in the box are two further sets of silicon gels and a 25cm USB ‘C’ to USB lead for charging the headset. There are also tiny getting started and warranty guides.

At the time of publication the Oppo Q1 is available from Amazon for £106.99 including free delivery.
