The The iPhone 11 Pro Max measures 15.5x7.5x.8cm and weighs 222 grams. The viewable screen is 15x6.8cm which gives the notional imperial diagonal measurement of 6.5 inches, however there is a notch 3.5cm long digging into the top of the screen for the selfie cameras. The screen is 2688x1242 pixels at 458PPI.
It comes with a 3046mAh battery, so a long day of battery life for most unless you spend it watching Apple TV+ that comes on the unit for a year. However for those a little more frugal then a full 24 hours of usage should be possible between charges. With a fast charger in the box a 50% recharge is just 36 minutes.
Released a year ago - at the time of writing – this remains Apples latest device but with a 5G version due shortly and possibly a new iPhone. However on checking I see this has version 13.7
The unit sent to me was with 4GB RAM and 64GB memory basic offering although 256GB and 512GB are available should that extra memory be required but of course at a premium.
The cameras on the back are three 12MP offerings wide, ultra-wide and telephoto to give rather good images and even 4K video at a decent capture rate. The minus point here is that they are contained in a 3x2.5cm raised area on the rear top right corner which means there is instability about the unit when put on a smooth surface as it can move around.
The front camera is also 12MP.
The OLED display is quiet bright and providing there is not strong sunlight directly onto it the screen is still readable. There are four colours available on the link at the end.
Yes it is a very nice phone but for me anyway as only an very occasional Apple user why are so many checks required. To start with you have to have a six digit pin – no choice – and only after entering it several times was I given the option of having the luxury of only having to enter it every 15 minutes when downloading from the Apple store.
The cameras do take very good images but I have also reviewed several Android phones that seem to have just as good camera images at a cheaper price.
Yes an iPhone is a status symbol and you do see a lot of them but you have to work the way Apple want you to do things.
The Apple iPhone Pro Max is available from Vodafone at £67 a month with £29 up front and I see Vodafone have an option to upgrade every year.
