Top 10 Ideas for Children's Christmas Presents 2007 

OK, so we know they all want an iPOD, the Wii and a Nintendo DS Lite - that's obvious. But what else could you put under the Christmas tree. Here at Gadgetspeak we've personally road tested some great products with real kids (big and small) and here is our list of Top 10 ideas. Your can see a full review of each by clicking on the titles.

There are over 101 different pattern combinations you can make which will keep anyone with a rubics cube of a mind happy for hours.

2. Fur Real Cat Friends - by Hasbro, From £34.95 - Gadgetspeak Highly Commended Award

This life like cat is part of the Fur Real family. It responds to pleasure and pain, through sensors on its body. And if you ignore it, this feline creature goes to sleep. Tickle and stroke this bundle of fur and it will respond with loving movements and sounds.

Tomy - Eternity II

3. Eternity II - by Tomy, from £24.99 - Gadgetspeak Highly Commended Award

One of our most popular reviews, here is another fantastic game for children and adults alike. Eternity II has 256 pieces each with half a pattern on its four sides. Match up all the sides to each other to create one big puzzle. Immensely difficult to do, and great for long days over Christmas. Tomy have added the incentive of a $2million reward for the first person who can solve the puzzle.

Radica Mattel U.B. Funkeys

4. U.B. Funkeys - by Mattel, Starter Pack from £17.99

Funkeys are characters which live in the physical world and on your PC. Plug in the mother Funkey via a USB port and sit baby funkeys on her back. Each of the funkeys will then unlock different virtual worlds on your PC with fun and games to play when you get there.

Hasbro Squawkers McCaw

5. Squawkers McCaw - by Hasbro, from £59.99

Wouldn't it be great to have a parrot chat to you without the food bills and cage to clean. Squawkers McCaw is another of Hasbro's fur real friends, who looks and behaves just like the real thing, repeating words after you, responding to attention and sleeping when you look away. Colourful, bright and lifelike!

Chalenj! by re:creation group

6. Chalenj! - by Re:creation Group plc, from £24.99

This game is just so much fun.  Children will really enjoy the high energy, silly physical challenges, and ones to work your brain as well.   Challenges are set and met in 30 seconds a time. Whether its crawling on your knees singing a song, balancing a ball on your head, throwing discs at a target or rattling off objects that start with the letter G, there's lots of giggles to be had.

Flytech Dragonfly

7. Flytech Dragonfly - from £27.89

And another product with two independent reviews - here's the first and here's the second.

A remote control dragonfly that flys in the air, will captivate children and make a refreshing change from cars and aeroplanes! It'll also get you outside in the fresh air.

8. I-CY - by Hasbro, from £17.99

So if you did succumb to the iPOD, how about this friendly Penguin speaker for your kids MP3 player, with light show and flapping wings!

How well do you know the lyrics to your favourite tunes? Are you a music trivia champion? This board game will test your music knowledge and kareoke skills to the limit!

10. Marvin's Magic Freaky Body Illusions, from £24.95

Cracking fingers, stretching ears, flossing your brain - these are just some of the magic illusions to perform with Marvin's box of tricks and props. A must for budding illusionists and magicians.
