Doro PhoneEasy 410GSM

This is almost like a normal mobile phone except it has the larger buttons and an easy to read display. It has Bluetooth and MMS and even a built in FM radio.

It is a flip phone and when closed the black back makes it look like ant other phone. However open it up and the white face with vibrant green piping around the edges make it stand out for the visually impaired. There are just 18 keys all well spaced apart. The bottom four rows are the normal 1-0 and * #. A large green answer and red end call are split with a toggle up and down. The top two keys are soft keys controlled by what is shown on the screen.

It is 10x5x2cm when closed and open it is 18.5cm long. The display is 4x3.3cm. Like all Doro mobile phones it has an emergency button on the back and on the back of the screen two high visibility LED’s for SMS messages in and out. The left side has two buttons to increase and decrease the volume while the right side has earbud and charging sockets. In fact the only thing missing that can be found on most phones today is a camera.

There is a wonderful easy to follow large print manual other manufacturers please take note.

Anyone using it with a Bluetooth headset would not be identified as having a problem. Doing my Internet searches found the Doro PhoneEasy 410gsm at a best price of £119.99 from the first link below.

Doro Form 45R

This is Doro’s top of the range DECT phone and it has been resident with me for a couple of months.

The phone itself is 14x4.5x2cm. It has the normal twelve dialling buttons and above these four more clearly marked buttons and betweens these N S E W control rocker, above these are three soft buttons just below the 3x2cm colour display. The only socket on the unit is the earbud one under a rubber bung on the left side of the unit.

The dock is 10x10x9cm with just a single button to the right of the charging dock. Above this is an area 10x7cm that you can insert a picture of your choice. The rear of the dock has phone socket and AC input socket.

The first twelve pages of the manual describe how to program the answer machine (record up to 30 minutes of messages) which is all setup from the handset. Other features include a clock and alarm, a memo function as well as remote access.

This is a modern easy to use answering machine, the DECT element allows you to take the handset down the garden and it is possible to add further handsets to the unit, ideal for those with larger properties and of course with the extra handsets you get a paging facility as well as being able to use the handsets as an intercom.

Doing my Internet searches found the Doro Form 45R at a best price of £34.62 from the first link below.
