Prestigio Health Items

These are new to the UK although a sister company brought out a very good Blood Pressure watch some years ago. Here I am looking at Smart Scales, Smart Blood Pressure Cuff and a Smart Pedometer these with a free App that can monitor your health.

Currently the App is only available to work automatically with IOS devices using the recent version of Bluetooth. A version to run on Android is promised shortly. However those with older IOS units can enter their details manually.

Smart Body Mass Scale PHCBMS

These are very smart bathroom scales, they have a wipe clean safety glass top and the rubber feet make it feel quite secure but perhaps best of all the scales are easy to read.

They are square at 31cm with the feet raising the scale enough to work correctly even on a carpet. The display is 6.5x5cm.

This works well for a family with automatic selection for up to four people. I am not sure how it would handle say twins of identical weight.

The LCD dispay is blue on a white background and it lights up when you step onto the scale. It will turn off automatically a few seconds after you step off. It is powered by 4x‘AAA’ batteries that are supplied. It is stated to weigh accurately up to 150KG. If you are traditional the weight can be in stones and pounds.

The total weight of the scale is 2.1kilos so easy to move even for a child or elderly person.

Like the other items below it requires Bluetooth 4 to transmit to the Prestigio App.

The Prestigio Smart Body Mass Scale is available from the link below for £61.95 with free delivery.

Smart Blood Pressure Cuff

This is able to be used on a wrist so easier to fit and remove without assistance. The reading head is semi-circular so already it is designed to fit on the inside of your wrist. It is 8x6.3x2cm and with the cuff fitted behind means only 24cm of material in two ends 11cm with reinforcements making it clip round the wrist while the 13cm on the other end is floppy with Velcro attaches to make the firm contact to give a true reading.

The overall weight is 117grams and avoids having to either roll up a sleeve or remove a tight fitting garment to take a reading.

The 4x3.5cm display shows the three readings in bold so for example 135, 80 and 88 the last is pulse. Below this is smaller non bold type are the time and date in two further lines. The three bold lines are clearly readable even for someone with less than perfect eyesight.

There are four buttons Set, Stop, Start and Memory. In normal use fit the cuff and from a relaxed position press Start and then Start again you will fell the cuff tighten and a few seconds later the result will be displayed. At this point if you have a suitable Bluetooth device it can be sent, if not note the readings.

The Prestigio Smart Blood Pressure Cuff is available from the link below for £59.99 with free delivery.

Smart Pedometer

This is a 1.5cm wide strap with a 2cm wide display. Towards the middle – around 8cm from the display is a 1cm wide clip.

This is not a normal type strap as you need to measure your wrist with a tape measure or piece of string and then cut with a pair of scissors the excess strap off. The inside of the strap is marked in .5cm measurements.

Then fit the ends to the clip. This is now the size to comfortably fit on your wrist to others this will look like a watch.

To fit on your wrist either end of the strap pulls out from the display. I found it easier to fit by pulling out the end marked with the Bluetooth symbol. It is a tight fit and dependant on which wrist you attach it to you may find the end marked with the USB symbol is easier to remove.

Either way the single button that shows the display must be on the upper side of the wrist.

It weighs only 22grams.

As you may have gathered this is charged via USB with the plug being part of the end of the display and fits very snugly into the strap.

Like the other devices without the correct version of Bluetooth you will have to manually enter the figures if you do have Bluetooth 4 then just press the display to enter the figures into the App.

Data can be stored on the device for up to seven days.

The Prestigio Smart Pedometer is available from the link below for £49.03 including delivery.
