Toys and Games for Christmas 3

Yes I am well aware that September is still with us, but with the recession now biting hard those presents need even better planning and so the sooner you startÂ…. Here two more items seen from a recent Christmas event.

Having recently told you about items for older children and most recently for Grandad’s here two things for the very young.

Trunki

This is a ride on suitcase that can be pulled along so the child can ride or pull his or her luggage wherever you go.

It has a small wheel at each corner and the front has what I suppose can be called two eyes, it has a 2p twist action for the two locks and then a simple flip action to open the case so small amounts of clothing can be accommodated.

Empty it weights 1450grams so even a not that big child should be able to use the two fabric handles and carry it but the real fun will be sitting on it and using their legs to propel it along with their feet on flat ground.

It is 45x28x19cm with a slight dip in the top so the child has a decent saddle position to propel it along. The wheels are 9cm tall and 2cm across. For the slightly older child or possibly the parent when the child gets tired there is a shoulder strap to allow it to be carried – the case not the child – the internal measurements are 33x24x10cm in the base part when open and slightly less for the top part in both cases because the case is shaped.

The top part has elasticized straps that snap together to hold items in place. The wheels to impinge slightly into the storage space but by reducing the size slightly it does improve the stability of the case when being sat upon.

There are several models to choose from and the full range can be found on the link below. The model in the link at £24.95 with free delivery is similar to the one I had except that it is blue and mine was green.

London Globee

This is a globe on a stand but instead of it being the world it is of London with the Thames flowing through it and various sites and places of interest shown. This is accompanied by a booklet that tells you a paragragh of information about 48 of the sites shown on the globe.

The globe itself is 12cm and with its stand it stands nearly 16cm tall.

For anyone of a younger age visiting London it gives a good idea of where the various items to see are, I suspect a youngster would look first for the London Wheel and them maybe for Tower Bridge both are there and are a walkable distance for a slightly older child.

They also do other places in the same style even some from abroad. I was surprised to see the most popular (at the time of checking the site) was Edinburgh.

They are available in 4inch at £14.95 6inch at £19.95 and 8inch at £29.95 all are available with a choice of stand types.
